MIK is the acronym for Mounting Is Key. With our system, you attach bicycle accessories securely to any place on your bike with a single click, from bicycle baskets and child bike seats to dog baskets. In short: MIK makes the click between your bicycle and style, activity, and destination.
That depends on which type of accessories you buy. You have bags and baskets which already have a pre-mounted MIK Adapter Plate. In this case, the MIK Adapter Plate is already included. You can purchase a separate MIK Adapter Plate when this is not the case. The accessory must be MIK-compatible, though.
HD stands for Heavy Duty. A bicycle with MIK HD Profiles is suitable for fitting a MIK HD bike child seat. Other MIK accessories also fit the MIK HD system. Our system meets the highest safety standards. Manufacturers offering MIK HD bike seats must ensure that their products have been tested and approved for sale by TÜV Rheinland. In addition, the MIK HD luggage carriers are tested extra strenuously, both with and without bike seats. MIK HD is the first and only system in the world to have this level of approval. So you can be sure that you can set off carefree and safely with your child.
Yes, you place our handy MIK Double Decker on top of another MIK Adapter Plate. This way, you can easily make all kinds of combinations and carry even more with you. For example, imagine a dog basket or a shopping crate on top of your panniers. This way, you literally hit the road with your own double-decker.
No, you attach the MIK Adapter Plate to your rack with the MIK Stick, and you cannot lock your accessories with it.
With MIK Profiles, you attach bike accessories to your luggage carrier; with MIK Studs, you attach them to the side. This way, you can also take MIK side bags on the road to always have enough space for all your gear.

Unlike other systems, MIK is an open platform system. This means that other brands can also equip their bicycles and bicycle accessories with a MIK system. Check the Brands page to see which brands are using MIK.

You can easily recognize a bike with integrated MIK Profiles by the MIK or MIK HD logo on your luggage rack. Does your bicycle not have a MIK system? Don’t worry; there is the MIK Carrier Plate. Just mount it on your carrier and enjoy your MIK system!
You can choose from numerous bicycle accessories. These include bike baskets, dog baskets, single and double bicycle bags, handlebar bags, child bike seats, and more. There are suitable accessories for every type of MIK. Or make them MIK-ready yourself with our easy-to-use products.
The Carrier Plate fits all luggage carriers with a carrier plate thickness between 8-16 mm and a width between 100-170 mm (outside diameter).
No, MIK Profiles are not suitable for bike seats. You need a carrier with MIK HD (Heavy Duty) Profiles for this. These are extra strong and tested for heavier loads.
The MIK Studs system allows you to carry MIK side bags. These can be easily clicked onto the side of your luggage rack.
No, a bicycle seat can only be placed on MIK HD system Profiles for safety reasons. It is not possible with the standard MIK Profiles system.
No, MIK does not fit. Bike accessories with a MIK Adapter Plate fit on a MIK carrier, not a Racktime carrier. The same applies the other way around. Bike accessories with a Racktime adapter plate (SnapIt) do not fit on MIK carriers. However, changing the MIK Adapter Plate underneath the bike accessory is possible. Suppose you have an addition with a (pre-mounted) Racktime adapter plate. In that case, you can attach a MIK Adapter Plate under that same accessory.
Purchase & Warranty
No, the MIK HD Adapter Plate is not available separately, and these are only fitted by the bike seat manufacturer.
You can choose bike seats from Urban Iki, Polisport, Qibbel Yepp, Thule and Bobike brands.
Our MIK systems are for sale in many bicycle stores and online webshops.
If you have lost a part or it is broken, replace it with a new one. You do not have to repurchase the whole system or separate accessories.
Please get in touch with the (online) point of sale where you bought the MIK system. Do not forget to bring your proof of purchase with you when you visit the store.
